The lift reached the top of its shaft and the doors creaked open with protest. They were now on the central deck, its halls leading to all the main sections of the station, including the docking bays. Though... one had already been taken out of commission and the others likely would be well guarded by now. Their main hope of escape now depended upon finding one of Jim's security teams, allowing them to get off the station, somehow.

They slowly made their way down the corridor, the unconscious guard still dragging behind. Jess held the rifle up and surveyed her surroundings... there definitely was a battle that took place here.. the walls were scorched, bulkheads damaged...

Her wounds had partially stopped bleeding for now.. but she most definitely was not out of trouble yet. She could tell she had several broken ribs, possible a punctured lung.. she could not tell.

She stopped as she heard gunfire ahead. She need not say a word and Chris stopped next to her, his pistol at the ready.

"What do you think?" she asked but was unable to receive a response from Chris as a squad of soldiers burst around the corner, their weapons pointed at the two new targets.

Without saying a word, they both lowered their weapons.....

"Miss Porter?" one of the men asked "you need to come with us, now..."

They dropped their weapons and surrendered to the troops... there was no way they could fight in this condition if they wished however.. something wasn't right. Had these guards been infested she was sure they'd have killed them on the spot.. no these were the cavalry.

The men took them to an airlock, where a ship was moored. It seemed to be a freighter of some sort. "Mr. Patterson sends his regards"

They boarded the ship and found it empty. The controls were familiar, and Jess immediately knew what to do. They left the soldiers behind to finish their job of securing the station. The logs would show that the two prisoners somehow managed to slip away and escape during a firefight.

They met up with the Anubis and landed without issue, both taken directly to the medical deck. Both were treated for their wounds without much further complications...

"Thank you Chris for what you did.. I owe you my life. Same with Jim.. I just wish I had the chance to tell him that in person..."
