Invent that Gas!

It is important to me to get the science to a non-laughable state with this one. I think the makers of Freelancer were onto something when they invented H-Fuel.

The very first thing I would ask for is to make H-Fuel profit levels the same as Plutonium. Pluto and H-Fuel re both sought after, but used for different purposes.

That being said - H-Fuel is not naturally occurring. H-Fuel is a blended fuel. It contains the following:

Helium-3. - He3
Deuterium - D
Hydrogen Gas - H

In terms of a locally 'mined' gas - the gas if choice would be Helium 3.

1) It is the key component of H-Fuel - what gives H-Fuel its 'kick'. The fusion reaction it generates is much more powerful than simple Deuterium fusion.

2) He3 is very rare by Earth standards. This is because it only occurs in older stars - once most of the normal Hydrogen and Deuterium is used up.

3) I propose that the Crow Nebula is the remains of an older star that was ripped apart by the Black Hole residing in Outcast space, over a billion years ago.

4) The GMG would also 'mine' all of the elemental Hydrogen. Hydrogen is extremely abundant, and doesnt need to be represented by the trading or mining system.

5) The GMG would also mine most of their Deuterium. However, the ratio of He3 to D is not equal - so to maximise efficiency of production, the GMG must IMPORT a certain amount of Deuterium from the Zoners. Deuterium is rare across Sirius - I theorise that is because the Dom'Kavash used up most of it during the development of their civilisation.

6) So this makes Helium3 like an 'ore'. One would mine it locally, then bring it back to one of the gas miners for a profit. Just have to consider where you want it taken, and render the profit margin based on that.
