Well, giving the character a few seconds of in game time will keep it from being wiped (once it's passed the 10 minute milestone).

However, remember that just a few seconds doesn't count for much with the amount of time a faction is active. And we are tracking factions server time in addition to in-forum RP as a way of determining whether a faction is active, is on life support, or has faded away completely.
