Pirating is ruining my game experience

Something that just occured to me as I saw this thread again.

Alot of people have been pointing out that if you are hauling 40 mil of cargo- paying a pirate isnt so bad , or that paying escorts isnt hard.

WELL what about us RP Traders- i.e Not Power Traders, you know the ones who actually try and act as if its an RP server?.

We carry RP cargo, I even carry water/oxygen on occasion if its the cargo that the faction I'm RPing would carry. We dont just follow all the 20,30,40 mil routes. We actually....wait for it.... enjoy RP

If you meet 2-3 pirates on the route who ask for 2milrdie , then you just end up making a huge loss. The best ones demand 3/4 if not all or your cargo.

Id say my average RP run gets 3-4 mil. Maybe 6-10 if im on certain charaters. Im getting pirated ( and I mean lolpirated, I enjoy being RP pirated- but thats just dead now, only 1/100 pirates actually says more than 2milrdie 10,9,8,7,..) so much that on some days I am losing money by trading.

You might say : you are cleary doing the wrong route! do a more profitable one
you might also say : Well thats the price of RP

So whats going to happen here evetually?

everyone will be lol power traders, and there will be a billion lol pirates to accompany them, all lolwutting across discovery with great abandon.


A Solution I offer? I have an idea, abit drastic, maybe draconian

I suggest that Pirating should only be allowed with Official Factions or SRP request with RP Story on Boards

Outcome : Less lolwutt pirates, more RP Pirates, better RP all round

The Official pirate factions are unchanged

The proper RP Pirates will be more than capable of posting a nice RP story for us all , and we will all continue to relish being pirated by them.

The Lolpirates will not exist

Hopefully power trader numbers will decrease abit also, and some proper RP trading can continue
