Mayday in Tau-31

Captain Soren, still on the Maul and awaiting repairs enough to get his ship to a dock and full repairs, was watching the battle through the viewports. Through his peripheral vision he could see the Osiris, flagship in this engagement, manuevering. He turned for a better look and saw the ship slide neatly in place between the Maul and the Nomad battleship. The ship had plenty of firepower to destroy the ship but not enough to destroy it before the Phantom BSA got away.

The comm systems cracked to life.

Dab: Captain Nightfall get the repairs to your shields then fly out around the battleship and get that BSA before it gets out of here.

Meanwhile the forgotten Rheinland gunboat was flying circles around the BSA firing light mortar after light mortar straight into its many guns.

Captain Soren: Get that gunboat on that ship's engines. We can't let them get away, and damaged engines will slow down their escape.

He saw another gun get blasted off the Nomad battleship through the video feed coming from the external cameras on the Osiris.

Dab: Captain take control. Im getting my fighter out there, where I'm best.

Dab jetted out the dock bay in his modified Ravenclaw, Keiran's eagle shortly afterword. They took off around the Nomad battleship easily evading the turret fire directed at them. They came whithin range and unloaded their "modified" novas into the side of the BSA. They quickly turned away from the explosions to come and hit the thrusters at thier highest setting.

Using the explosives from the supernova mines they had worked up a torpedo twice as strong as the house produced novas. But the explosion size was big enough to destroy the very ship that had shot it. Thus the pilot had to turn immediately upon firing, or else get caught in the explosion.

The first torpedo blasted the bow shields while the second penetrated to slam into the hull, taking 3 of the heavy cannons with it.

The two pilots then turned to stitching the ship with laserfire damaging, and even destroying, gun emplacements, missile tubes, and mortar launchers.

Keiran: All pilots focus on the BSA's engines. We will draw the fire from its guns. The battleship will distract the Nomads.

Keiran spun over the top of the ship and started peppering the ship with lasers, though only lightly effective it still distracted the ship's gunners enough to allow the suicide kings and their escorts open space to the engines. Dab started doing the same on the other side of the ship. The Phantoms were going to regret holding their fighters back to have the ability of a quick getaway. Unless they launched soon the ship would be stranded here under the gun of AW battleships and cruisers.
