With a nervous pause, Angelica Broch walked into the lobby of the recruiting office. Others sat about, either looking at one another suspiciously or just twiddling their thumbs. She brought a hand up and smoothed her hair slightly, trying to make herself all the more presentable. She took a seat and went over the words in her head, trying to get them to sound just right.
One by one, each one was called, some returned, others didn't. She didn't comment about it. That would be unwise. Soon a voice called her name. It was rather serious and cold, as if they were talking about a thing, not a person.
She stood up and forced herself to walk forward. Each step was a protest of her consciousness. Her mind didn't want her to be there, so what forced her forward? Willpower? Loneliness? No. It was Katz. She quickened her pace at the memory of him; more relaxed now that she had motivation.
The Commissar sat at his desk, filing over papers before looking up at her a moment later. Quickly, Angie snapped a salute, smart and rather crisp. The Commissar nonchalantly returned it, gesturing to a chair.
With an emotionless voice, he began to speak.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
