Angie smiled, slightly. The joke was amusing, but she shouldn't really enjoy it. She went back to a serious face. "It is safe to assume that I am applying for the SCRA, so I'll cut to the chase."
She cleared her throat and spoke with more power in her voice, speaking as if she believed what she said, "I was a Liberty Rogue. It was a rather lonely, cold, and cruel lifestyle. I gained the inspiration to join after talking to a rather freshly recruited Alvin Katz. After our conversation, I realized that my life was rather sad and pathetic. As a Rogue, you own your ship and nothing else. You are practically the leader of your own ship. People don't help you because you're a fellow Rogue, but because you have something that you can offer them. There was no sense of camaraderie," She said it as though she had practiced it, "If I had died, no one would care."
She sighed and looked down, clearing her throat again as she looked up, "After speaking to Alvin, I realized all this. It made me see that I wasn't appreciated as a marauding savage who took other people's money and killed them afterward. I didn't pirate again after that. I waited until the recruitment officers were open here," She looked the Commissar in the eyes.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
