Our RP and our missions we give our subordinates is no business of yours. But since it's unclear to you, I'll give you a little explanation.
The Coalition came on the Hispania, sabotaging that "fine" piece of equipment. Coalition pilots can trace their roots back there. They want to see a piece of their history in Sirius.
Now, a lone pilot making the pilgrimage back to the Hispania writes his name in the hull (fires a round), then makes it back to Coalition space, wins the adulations of his fellows and a campaign ribbon, usually the first a pilot wins.
Why, on this or any other earth, would a lone pilot fight the Maltese Navy? Even if asked to single combat, the Coaliton pilot's main goal is to get back to Coalition space. If they can sling a few barbs at the drug-peddlers in Malta, all the better.
Docking on the Freeport isn't looked highly upon, however, and the pilot will be talked to. PM me the name of the pilot, along with any SS you may have (not here, it will be deleted), we will make sure things are straightened out.
