This is Daisa Kitao, reporting in.
Now as you might've guessed, I usually only file reports if fairly out-of-the-ordinary things occur.
And this did occur today.
So, I joined patrol with Chujo Hiroito and one other, Jiro Taichibana, and we went to clear out the Hokkaido system. A congregation of Golden Chrysanthemums were there already happily chatting away. However... when we enquired as to their location, they gave it freely. We checked out the location, and the offender, a Minata Kisune, was found to actually be telling the truth!
What really happened was an oddity. I do not know what the defensive force were thinking, but they left their own base at our mercy. All except for Minata, who stood her ground. Another GC pilot soon undocked from Ainu and entered the fray, and was dispatched by the Chujo as she attempted to redock with Ainu after suffering critical damage.
Minata displayed significantly more skill but was in the end no match for my Umibozu and Jiro's Chimera. She surrendered before the final blow could be struck, and we decided to escort her to Fuchu prison. At first she was co-operative, but she tried to make a break for freedom as I jumped through to Shikoku, her own good self staying in New Tokyo. Attempts to get her to stay on course to Fuchu were neither acnowledged nor adhered to, leading to a fairly long chase.
Jiro followed without a cruise disruptor, and our patience broken, I jumped back to New Tokyo after my jump systems had recharged. The chase ended with her getting disrupted, and after a brief struggle, her ship being holed by my supernova from the side. There was no evidence of an escape pod, which suggests a failed jettison. Minata is likely space dust by now, which is a shame, since she was very capable of thinking for herself. Too bad she chose life and death at the hands of the Kusari Naval Forces.
