Lafiel's Party (OFFICIAL PARTY THREAD)

[Lafiel]

The Manor of Araluen was alive and humming with life it wouldn't be long till guests would arrive. The sun just setting upon the horizon cast the last of it's warm colours upon the fountain courtyard that led to the steps of the main entrance to the three hundred and fifty room manor that rose up suddenly in the countryside in all of the magnificence and grandeur of eight stories of an architecture of a much older age it's three belvederes finishing the grand structure to it's highest points. The gardens had all been sculpted especially for the occassion the fountain in the courtyard had roses placed alone its base and upon all of its eight tiers.

Lafiel stood in her room on the second floor as she gazed out one of the many tall arched windows to the sprawling countryside leading down to the river as the sun fell slowly behind the forest as night came ever slowly to grace the estate with it's presence. Lafiel was wearing her favourite white dress it had a touch of an older forgotten victorian age one of the many long forgotten ages her father clung dearly to yet for all the dress was victorian in origin it was graced by the beauty of a tailored dress of more recent times and wasn't so constraining the band of red ribbon sash set off the dress nicely it fastened behind a red rose.

As Lafiel looked out upon the horizon her mind went over everything in fine detail. She would go greet the first of the guests as they arrived once the place filled up she would mingle making sure everyone felt welcome and not neglect anyone. Her father had made the rest of preparations there was plenty of alcohol for the people that were inclinde to drink some of the most finest wines and various other delights from all around Sirius only the finest things had made it. There would be servants with various canapes floating about as would there be various forms of entertainment dinner itself was to be a twenty one courses for a grand feast there would also be dancing which although Lafiel enjoyed it she was unsure as to whom she would have to dance with but she put that thought off as it wasnt till after dinner oh and the speech before the end of the night there would be at least three hundred guests it made her nervous she tried to shake it from her mind with the thought of hopefully if she didn't say the right things that everyone would have had too much drink to notice her blunders if any though that did worry her a bit everyone getting to drunk to walk she was glad her father had allowed the guests the options to stay at the manor over night should such fine persons find themselves without the means to leave. Her father had also seen it fit to bring in more servants to wait on people making a compliment of at least two hundred servants and staff if Lafiel recalled the numbers correctly though this didn't account for any of the guards or MI5 personal that suddenly found themselves on duty.

There was a sudden knock at her bedroom door which jolted her from her deep thoughtful mood a warm familiar voice followed it, "Lafiel are you there?" The door handle had began turning as Countess Sophia Mertel Captain of one of Her Majesties ships let herself in. "Sophia!" exclaimed Lafiel forgetting all restraints of nobility as she ran over to Sophia and hugged her like family. Sophia smiled as she suddenly found the younger lady wrapped around her and hugged her back there was something familliar about this she couldn't quite put her finger on it what it was, "Well aren't you are beautiful and stunning this evening an not a spot of make up on you are you out to win a mans heart my dear friend." Lafiel let go and shook her head trying not to look suspicious or blush she had thought about maybe trying to find someone but decided that there was going to be no one present probably that was suitable for her though it was a nice dream she retorted teasingly, "No but I bet you are Sophia." Sophia shook her head and gestured to Lafiel with one hand, "Oh I couldn't possibly try and find a man between my job as captain of my ship and keeping you out of trouble I have my hands full without adding a man into the equation." They both giggled before Sophia spoke the one question Lafiel wasn't wanting to hear, "Are you ready then shall we get going guests are surely to be here soon an I must meet your father I'm amazed I still haven't met him yet." Lafiel replied the nervous anticipation starting to fade away now Sophia was here, "As ready as I will ever be I'm so excited." Lafiel and Sophia left Lafiel's room and headed down the hallway Lafiel twirled as she went excitement kicking in in earnest her long light blonde hair flowing as she went; she called back to Sophia as she went ahead, "To be honest I was rather nervous but I'm really excited now though I'm going to dread giving a speech to all those people." Sophia said encouragingly, "You will do fine I'm sure being nervous is natural but you will do great." Lafiel calmed down sobering suddenly as she saw servants wandering along the lower levels from a view from the grand staircase that led out to a large entrance hall.

Lafiel smiled as she thought to herself and now it all begins.
