There's also the model Seth Karlos provided. Which I sorta like, but we'd need more screen of it.

Err... People can model whatever they want, and post whatever they want. As long as you haven't made a submission it's not really hijacking unless it was posted in your thread.

I see it more along the lines of healthy competition when two parties work on projects with the same goal, helps keep diversity.
