The following represents a compilation of three seperate sorties. All three were undertaken with my HFX-F1A "Falchion", without the Broadsword Modules.
The first of the three sorties was rather uneventful, and I managed to gather scan data on three ships: A Liberty Navy Guardian, a Liberty Security Force Liberator, and a Libert Navy Battlecruiser, the Milford. Scan data uploading now.
The second sortie was more successful, but at the same time far riskier. I managed to gather scan data on a group of Liberty Security Forces snubcraft near Fort Bush: A Havoc Mark II Bomber, a Guardian, and two Avengers. I also collected a scan of a Pytho Bomber belonging to the Universal Shipping subsidiary, The Kings of Freight.
As I was moving towards the Badlands, and West Point, however, I ran across a lone Liberty Navy Avenger, who managed to pick my ship up and gave chase. Using my fighter's superior agility, and the range advantage of my CD95XT over his CD98a, I kept him at range while I manuvered him away from the lanes and towards the Pittsburgh debris field.
With the scan data I had in my fighter still unsecured, I couldn't risk a dogfight against his figher alone, especially when I was so outmatched. Thus, playing upon his sense of duty and blind devotion to the Navy, I lured him into the nearby particle cloud... and onto the waiting guns of the destroyer within.
At this point, I figured any sane pilot would have fallen back, but he didn't let up at all, and I was forced to bring my reactor to combat mode and defend myself. While the gunners on the destroyer were rather enthusiastic, they were hardly much help, and I was forced to do much of the work myself. After a difficult skirmish, I managed to cripple his fighter, but not before he landed a few good hits to my fighter's nose, resulting in a partial loss of data. While most of the scan data remained intact, the earlier recordings of the pursuit across New York were corrupted.
From there, I moved to a more secure location within the debris field and transferred the undamaged scan data into hard storage. Uploading now.
The final sortie was not an intelligence run, but a full scale battle. A group of our fighters engaged a patrol of Liberty Navy fighters in Magellan, with the Iblis holding nearby to keep any of the Navy fighters from entering Vespucci. I was in New York still at the time, and from the secure comms, I heard that a Bretonian Battleship, the HMS-Pendragon had moved up from Leeds to engage the Iblis, with the Ven'Gyr coming out of Vespucci to deal with it. The system channels in New York were screaming with Navy, LPI, and LSF comm transmissions, and I noted a conflict of opinions between select Navy vessels and a Liberty Security Forces task group of the name AEGIS. The Navy ships wanted to move heavy battleships and cruisers down to Magellan to strike at our forces, while the LSF vessels were of the opinion that such a redeployment would leave Texas vulnerable to a push by Rheinland.
I made my way into Texas through the jumphole in the Badlands, and then into California, dodging an LSF Bomber and one of the AEGIS cruisers on the way. By the time I had reached the gate into Magellan, the skirmish had moved into California, with around six Legion fighters and the Iblis facing off at the gate against a far larger force of LIberty Navy fighters and gunboats, as well as a few bounty hunters.
Though we were outnumbered by far, I dove in to assist the best I could in my fighter. Sometime during the battle, a second Bretonian Battleship showed up to blockade the Magellan gate, first in California itself, then moving back to Magellan. While the Liberty Navy continued to recieve occasional reinforcements, our numbers dwindled slowly, until my fighter took a heavy hit and lost power.
When my ship came back online, the battle was over, and I was adrift within the nearby ice cloud. I attempted to access my data recorder, but it had been damaged in the fight, and I couldn't recover much from its banks besides a single fighter scan of a Liberty Security Forces Guardian flown by a Gabriel Frost and a fewstillimages.
