Levesque was a bit more relaxed when the talking started, he waited for the two speakers to finish, then leaned forwards looking directly at the first speaker. "Monsieur, what you're asking is what we already do. Fighting the corrupt crown, and government is why we're in this mess in the first place. Be that we do have problems with them and their ways, but if the people had their way we wouldn't be in this war."
He shook his head, now pushing himself onto his feet and leaning forwards, slamming both hands down on the table. "I want to know why you're deciding to call us all here today, for the first time and attempt to talk about an alliance against the Crown, when we've been fighting this damn war for ages now, losing good men and women. Why are you attempting to aid us now? What underlining goals do you have that will destroy our potential future?" His expression was blank, and his tone was threateningly serious.
He remained standing for a few more minutes, "I want this damn war over with and I want it over with now. I want it over with quickly, and without anymore pathetic bloodshed. The royalists are people just like you and I." He sighed heavily and sat back down in his seat, "But they think, and act like machines." He mumbled, propping his arms up on the arm rests and interlocking his fingers in front of him. "I hardly see the Corse doing anything."
