Unless you are a masochist, of course.
Trading isn`t a fun activity - it`s a chore. It`s something you do to pay your repair bills. It`s boring, tedious and makes people to invent trade-bot programs. And then a pierat comes and makes you feel like a victim, adding to the frustartion.
Then you're doing it wrong. Or you don't have any clue about role-play, and you only see trading as a way that you, personally as the player, can make oodles of money to support characters that otherwise can't support themselves. Instead of figuring out that RP'ing while trading is and can be fun.

I agree with your first comment, Sterlin. Those people who find it a chore have, I fear, never actually TRIED to role-play it. Or only choose high profit/high risk routes in the first place, because they just want the most money for the least effort.
Heck, some of the best role-play and fun I've had on Disco has been running as the escort / scout for a trading group - and vice-versa, hiring someone to scout for me.
