He sat motionless, disconnected from the world around him as howling winds swirled and the rain poured down heavily on his body from the heavens of planet Kyushu. He was perched high on Mount Miyanoura, in a shrine dedicated to the gods of honour and fertility. Many had sat there before him, just as many would sit there after him. His task was simple; discover the path, find his purpose, achieve enlightenment and pursue the will of the gods. His time had come.

4 days he sat, meditating, like a statue, without food, with only the rain to sustain his human requirement for water. Detached, looking down upon his physical manifestation and concentrating ever more, he pushed his mind further into the mists of Miyanoura, searching for his rightful place.

And then it happened. Just as he crossed what seemed like the point of no return, the wind and rain stopped suddenly, and he felt a comforting tranquility taking over. Thoughts began to emerge, powerful, yet peaceful. His mind was no longer his own. He could not control his thoughts, as he had spent the previous days doing so with intense purpose and control. He had become merely a spectator in the theater that was his mind. There were thoughts in his mind that were not his own... he saw and felt things which he never could have imagined...

Images of an ancient Kusari, his people farming and prospering, there was an immense sense of honour and well-being; the likes of which he had never experienced in his brief (by comparison) existence. He was home, he had found what he was seeking. He never wanted to leave this place.

He had felt the touch of the gods, he knew. He had seen and felt a Kusari which was a far cry from the Kusari of today. The gods had shown him heaven, and yet had taken it away from him just as suddenly. He found himself sitting again in the shrine on Mount Miyanoura, the winds howling and the rain pouring down.

He paniced.

Ripped from his heaven, yearning for the purity, honour, and prosperity once more, like a drug which had taken hold. He sat shivering, his body ravaged and frail from the harsh conditions.

If there was anything that could become of this inferior existance, he knew what he had to do. Like the other honourable souls before him, he made his way to Kagoshima Depot looking to fight for his people and for Kusari.

The people of Kusari must prosper once again.


Update

After waiting for a week without any signs of life emanating from Kagoshima Depot, he offered one final prayer of honour and prosperity to any remaining AFA soldiers that may be out there, powered up his engines, and moved off.

Alone he would search for the Kusari he knew was possible.
