Subject: A new name, the old faces

To whom it may concern,

I am Ayem, head of the ibn Sina Familia. I am not a Don. I have not chosen that path. I will not seek a place in this new system of governance. Breathe easy. In the time to come you will face a struggle for acceptance. There will be those who say, "No, I will not obey your command". I encourage the young Commonwealth to not meet this response with the usual blunt fist. Earn the respect of your people anew, or the Maltan nation will only experience new rebellions, bloodier uprisings.

To command an execution is simple, but to persuade a person away from their misconceived resistance to your desires, that is the true mark of governance. I hope my slaves will not be sent to avenge the feelings of too great a number of petty Dons squirming in their old Council chairs, the Commonwealth insignia fresh and bright on their lapels.

I offer this small warning, harm my people by misgovernance and I shall answer that trespass with a succinct retort.
