I can't help jumping in here, and I really don't like the idea of putting people off the Discovery server, because in my 18 months of playing freelancer this is the best mod and server I've ever seen, but....
Shadow_killer, you don't seem to 'get' the game. Listening to your arguments, it sounds like you really ought to be playing single player.
However, having said that...
One thing not mentioned yet is that the game has a good reputation system. If someone shows as red hostile, that for me is a perfectly good enough reason to attack if you so wish. Without any chat. So long as it's within the pvp rules. That's how npcs behave most of the time, after all.
The problem may be that a lot of these battleships were neutral traders, and are still neutral to most factions. Also, Shadow_killer may be a neutral, and would show neutral to a bad guy battleship. So if Shadow's been attacked by a neutral I would have some degree of sympathy, although he does admit to pressing F1 in combat, so no, no sympathy. That's a no-no. SP for you.
Come on, you Terrors, don't attack pilots showing as neutral without warning.
In my opinion the server needs only 4 basic rules, to keep it really simple. But I must add that these are not the official rules
No attacking non-hostile players
No attacking players under level 26
No attacking while undocking / leaving base
No pressing F1 in combat
That's it. Everything else goes.
Enjoy FL, let everyone get on with it. having lots of rules takes the fun away for me.
