Or the old chestnut, Quebec? Why hasn't anyone tried that yet?
I think people tend to underestimate the lengths at which nations go to protect their territory, from both the inside and outside. A large country tolerating the unlawful breakaway of a chunk of its territory makes it look weak, and encourages more of the same. Ontario is enough, and is going to be an SAR anyway. Also, an interesting claim that you're "fighting the Navy and LSF and winning". I might as well be fighting the nomads on my own and winning. Im Trent, after all.
Goodness knows the other houses need some love at this point.
That you haven't talked to us means that currently, the plans for Ontario and its surrounding systems are not going to fit at all with your plan for Alberta. As for the plan to annex Alberta, if you ever tried, the LPI/LSF/Navy would be all over that system and completely crushing everything there. Small-time two-bit piracy is one thing, but the unlawful seccession of an entire system is another.
Expect the Maryland/Durango on your doorstep. Im sure the 90192380575783 other Liberty Capital ships can hold Texas for a few days.
I do however like the font and organisation of your initial post. I just don't like the content.
