When fighting anything smaller than a cruiser, use it as an auxiliary weapon to your turrets, if you use it like a SNAC against GBs you will rarely hit and end up loosing lots of fights. In cap fights though once you get the feel of it, you can use it in tandom with pulse cannons to do horrific dammage.
