Guten morgen soldaten der Red Hessian Army. I am Roland Koenig, originally from planet New Berlin. My father worked as an election campaign manager for one of the opposing candidates in the so called election for a new Chancellor in 810 A.S. His candidate stood against government corruption and for people's and workers rights. Of course, it was not enough for the current Chancellor to beat his competitors via unfair and corrupt means, he also had to make political examples of them and their employees. He proceeded to systematically discredit and disenfranchise everybody involved in the opposition candidates campaigns, ruining them and essentially forcing them into exile. Luckily my father had the necessary contacts to change our identities and found somewhere to live in the vast countryside on the beautiful Planet Stuttgart. He had enough money saved for us to live a modest life there, away from mainstream society.
Ever since that happened my father began following the revolutionary movements in Rheinland and began to tell me stories about them. It wasn't until a couple of years ago, when I was on a school trip to Planet Baden Baden, that I decided I wanted to join the Red Hessian Army. I witnessed a number of Rheinland Military vessels (perhaps 6) converging on a single Red Hessian vessel, who courageously held them off for several minutes. Of course the tour operator on our school transport vessel said something to the effect of "there you see a common criminal being dealt with efficiently by our glorious military", but I knew the military had no honour. They were toying with the lone Hessian, using him ruthlessly for target practice. Backup arrived for the Hessian in the form of several fighters, and the joy within me was difficult to contain. They faught with honour and skill, taking down several military vessels before breaking off and disappearing into the Ostnebel.
It was clear to me from that moment that I wanted to fight for Rheinland with the Red Hessian Army. I concentrated on finishing my schooling and preparing myself as best I could, so that I may be of use when the day came. That day is here. If you will have this young eager Rheinlander, willing to fight (and die if necessary) for his people, I would be honoured to join you.
I have some basic flight/combat knowledge picked up from books and friends of my father, but of course have much yet to learn.
