I can't give Nestel any orders, she's a Freelancer. I can yell at her, and it behooves her to listen because we've taken her in, but she can and on many occasions has taken the right to completely ignore me.

I understand this is the same with practically every faction.

This is why some people prefer to stay indy. They are still in RP under control of the faction, but have the freeom to do what they want, when they want, in the bounds of their RP.

First, apologies, I assumed the best way to RP a Colonial style, or Colonial loving character would be via IMG, to keep you close, it seem I was mistaken. As for playing a Colonial citizen, I don't myself have the desire to do so at this very moment.

No problem at all, but if you're not actually interested in making one yourself, it begs the question why start this thread? You said yourself in your first post you understand it's a faction that people have put a lot of time, love and effort into themselves, but then that "I think it could be bettered with indie input". Sure, you can be making the point just for the hell of it or because you're bored, but it'd be nice to step back and realise that you're basically inviting the opportunity for anyone who wants to come into said faction of time, love and effort and do whatever they like. You'd have to agree that's a little insensitive, no?
