Quan Lea opened the door to his 98th story pent house and set his scan card on the table inside the door. He stopped for a minute, his head hurt from all the thinkning he had been subjected to today. The coming war, the resistance to his proclamiation, and the job of dealing out orders to all his commanders. He rubbed his brow pinching between his eyes for a second and then made his way to the liquor cabinet he keeps behind his old Samuri statue modeled after some great unknown warrior from the old earth era. He pulled out one of his favorite brandies imported form Planet Manhatten days ago and poured it into a small glass sitting on an ornate glass plate. Slowly he poured the liquid then set it aside and made his way to his favorite chair in front of his Vid-Screen displaying the image of an old Buddist monastary.

"Imperial Commander Lau-Ming." He states flatly at the screen.

The screen makes a few short low toned beeps and then shows the picture of the Battle ship Tokyo Defender V in orbit of New Tokyo. The image of a beutiful woman looking down fidgeting with her military uniform displays on the screen.

"Good evening Shogun Lea. How can I be of service this evening?" She quickly responds in a militeristic yet slightly nervious tone.

Quan slowly sips from his glass then sets it on a small dark wood end table next to his chair. He then leans forward in the chair the whole time never removing his dark green eyes from the image on the screen. "Commander Ming I need you to see to the coordination of the first wave into the Tau systems. Make sure you make contact with our informants on freeport and Planet Harris by 23:00 hours tomarrow evening for updates on enemy ship placement and see to the deployment of the military vehicles in case resistance becomes heavy on planet Harris. Finally contact Commander Ling and see that he gets hold of our "friends" in Rheinland about obtaining more Military Vehicles for our reserves in case things go sour with our ground forces. Is everything clear Commander Ming?"

Quickly Ling snaps a salute and barks "Yes Shogun! All will be taken care of, You can rely on me sir."

"I hope so." Quan replies "Have a good evening Commander I'll be inspecting the fleet in three days time. Vid screen off"

The Large Vid screen goes blank and then the image of the Buddist monestary returns to the screen with samll sparrow like birds flying between the pink petaled trees. Quan sits back in his chair and takes a large swig of the remaining brandy then sets the glass back on the end table. A sigh escapes his lips as his eyes close and he begins to drift into his uneasy slumber for the rest of the evening.
