TAZ
They exist. They are official and yet there has in no way been any god/goddess forced into Discovery as mod or server canon. Therefore you above statement is completely and utter false.
Thier RP doesn't contradict their use of ships. Everyone needs ship. Its the conduit through which people's RP happens.
I believe what he is saying that if we make a bunch of 'ghost' ships allowed, and allow the fact that they really are ghosts and really are feeding on souls, that does force that belief, the belief in souls and god, onto others. TAZ, while a faction based around a religion of chaos, doesn't force this on others. They adhere to several tenants, and believe, in-RP, that something is true.. There is nothing in the game saying it -is- true though. They have no character that is the god Eris, there is no undeniable proof of Eris' existance. So people are free to believe Eris exists or does not exist. With these ghost ships, if accepted the way they are, forces everyone to deal with the existence of souls and god as true while playing here.
They can't say ghosts and souls don't exist if there are Osirises crewed by ghosts flying around. They are forced to follow someone else's belief, and unable to follow their own.
I also share the concern over powergaming (not metagaming in this situation) with this roleplay. If you kill a player ship and start talking about how you just collected X number of souls, that's metagaming. It means the person on that ship was killed and you're stealing his soul. If that player didn't allow that to happen, that's you taking control of their character without permission, and that is powergaming.
