He was intimately aware of his surroundings, his steady breathing as he caressed the trigger of the SEEKER. He could taste the wind as it stirred the dust around him, and he kept himself as still as he could, knowing that it was next to impossible for anyone to spot him where he had chosen to perch. The rooftop gave him a view directly across the grounds, towards the parking lot, where he could see the runners, spraying bullets at a horde of fast moving white creatures.

He wasn't after them.

In the back of his mind he was already planning his exfiltration, the stairs, the street, through the doorway where Cruz was lurking, watching his back, ready with that shotgun. If that failed, he could get to another rooftop, there was a set of scaffolding nearby that afforded him with a secondary escape route, should his position be compromised. Failing that, there was always a less pleasant third option...

He checked his ACOG sight, glancing down it, knowing that it was properly zeroed, as he adjusted his head to sit comfortably resting against it, trusting the precision of his weapon, and the perfect synergy that came from a highly tuned instrument of death.

Pick the most dangerous hostile and eliminate that first...

The glowing red chevron of his scope settled on his target of choice, the large beast of a man who was lurking, watching the group battling the white blobs. His small gaggle of men using the distraction to get closer to the Coalition soldiers, ready to pounce on them.

Alvarez stroked the trigger...

The Raider's head caved in spectacularly.

The semi-automatic action of the VLR-01 SEEKER had already chambered another caseless flachette, and he took the second shot a heartbeat later, killing a second raider before they had a clue what was happening to them.

A commotion downstairs, had Alvarez rolling up, breaking his cover to rush to the stairs, as the shotgun blared again.

He slung his rifle, drawing his sidearm as he sprinted down the stairs two at a time to help Cruz out with whatever was trying to sneak up on them...
