The Legion from our time (2010) is completely different from the one that was at it's beginnings. Here (818 A.S.), we tried to take what's good from the early legion and combine it with the new one.

Ranks... ranks were made to deny the usage of capital ships by too many mambers. The biggest ship that can be used by a guy whom started from 0 (Recruit) is a GB but that would come after some time... some really long time and good performance inRP and in combat (maybe less in combat). The Cruisers and the Battleships will be used mainly in events (especially because they are.... Useless) by the high ranking officers that are not so many...

No, this legion will not allow pirates, terrorists or criminals FROM Gallia in it's ranks. So, it will be impossible for a... let's say terrorist - Maquis - to join the Legion. If he tries, he's executed. But if a pirate from Bretonia comes to us, we might give him a chance. The leaders will be gallians, there's no doubt that the King will allow others to lead an elite force.

Chevalier, Seigneur and Duc are honorary titles which will be given for acts of bravery and stuff like that... they are more like medals. They will have some RP consequences as well but Seby knows more about that.

"The Foreign Legion is such a great story element and RP vehicle. I am surprised that you left out or ignored some of the primary reasons for it being so." - We just started this. It will evolve in time. You said something about the ZoI... well, here we have a problem. We want to take the restrictions from the old legion (they were not allowed to come to France... EVER)... But seeing that we can't leave Gallia... yet, we will have to think of a way to RP this and stay in Gallia till 4.86

Also, the legion has it's motto ("First in, last out"), which I told Seby to add it here as well but he's too lazy and I'm gonna kill him some day.
