Something That I've noticed is that the level of difficulty of a mission is set by which ship you're flying/what equipment you've loaded.

I'm flying a Talon with 4 CLASSIFIED weapons and two Class 9 weapons and I'm taking Missions from Malta and Ibiza for $300k - $500k and all I have to do is blow living hell out of some Bounty Hunter VHFs, which is fine by me, I have a shield which protects me and weapons which strip them down to atoms in some 10 hits.

Now, I teamed up with a [SF] pilot, who was flying an Outcast Destroyer and suddenly, for no reason at all, I'm taking $350k missions and I have to deal with Bounty Hunter "Cruisers". I think it's as much based on your strength as it is on the level of money you'll get for it.

And I'm back on my own only having to deal with fighters.
