NTF vs. LN/LSF event in Kansas

PREMISE

Though small and haphazardly equipped, the Neo-Terran Front has been an irritant to Liberty for some time. The LSF, with Navy support, will attempt to root them out by attacking the NTF's headquarters in Kansas.

LIBERTY

With an influx of new ships from their shipyards, the Liberty Navy has now decided to turn its attention to a long-overdue problem: an irritating upstart group known as the Neo-Terran Front, who have arrogantly claimed the Kansas system for their own. Even worse, the NTF has allied themselves with the rebellious Hellfire Legion.

The LSF is spearheading this operation, as the core of the NTF consists of a mix of ex-LSF and ex-Outcasts, many of whom are suspected to have knowledge valuable to Liberty. They are to be captured if possible... eliminated, if not.

Because of the minimal importance of the Kansas system, and the relatively small size of the Neo-Terran Front, the Navy is not allocating major forces to this operation.


Win condition: "Dock" an LSF transport to the top of Junction base before 20 minutes have elapsed, and hold it there for 2 minutes. OR simply destroy all NTF combat vessels.

Restrictions: No more than 1 large capital ship (Dread or Carrier). No more than 3 Transports. Official [LN] and LSF only.

THE NEO-TERRAN FRONT

The NTF has lived on the razor's edge for almost a year, surviving off of donations from anonymous backers and miners eager to collect Iridium without being harassed. Their allies, the Hellfire Legion, have more or less left them to their own devices.

A Liberty Navy fleet has just arrived at their doorstep, with more enemies soon to come. Losing the only home they have known is painful, but with the Navy now hunting them, do the Neo-Terrans have any choice?

Now the exhausted, rag-tag forces of the NTF must hold back the inevitable, long enough for their transports to evacuate their headquarters of Junction Base.


Win condition: Prevent the Liberty team from winning in the allotted time, and then escape Kansas via Magellan.

Restrictions: Must be a<strike>n official</strike> registered NTF player.

Notes: Hellfire Legion ships may enter Kansas, but may not participate in combat against LN or LSF forces during the event. HF ships may, however, escort fleeing NTF noncombatants to safety, and/or patrol within 5 km of the Magellan jump hole. Other factions should avoid Kansas during the fight.

THE OUTCOME

Liberty will regain control of Kansas in fact as well as name. They may not have completely eliminated the Neo-Terrans, but the LSF is keeping tabs on them, and is ensuring they can no longer pose a threat to the people and planets of Liberty. But Kansas is a large, untamed system, with many places to hide -- can the Navy's position there really remain secure in the long term?

The NTF, on the other hand, will have to abandon Kansas completely and begin their search for a new base of operations. But they will survive, and persevere -- the utopian future of Neo-Terra depends on it...

This was agreed upon by myself, KV, and Joe on Skype, but if too many people are busy that day, then the event can be pushed back.

Event location:
Kansas system, between Planet Topeka and Junction Base.
Junction Base is not marked on the map, but is roughly 15km in from the southeastern edge of the Dodge Asteroid Field.
