You know what's the real reason for people, especially older players, increasingly leaving Disco? It's threads like this. Everybody here seems to play to win and bitches when his faction isn't faring as well as he'd like it to. It's everybody wanting the best for himself. Who cares about collaborative RP, about the fact that the player behind the guy losing iRP may still be a winner ooRP, or even such basic things such as, you know, realism and knowing your place in the universe (instead, people want to know when they'll finally get their fscking Battleship or custom shipline handed to them).
You know, I've seen quite a few other roleplaying communities, too. They all have their winning and losing groups, and sometimes, things get heated on their forums. But when the day's over, they're still a community - very much unlike Disco, where we not only have iRP, but also ooRP factions whining and going at each other's throats.
Don't take me wrong. If you don't like an idea or storyline introduced by the devs, by all means, say so. But offer constructive criticism, try to work together instead of against each other, posting crapposts and being otherwise idiotic. Stop complaining about being left out of the loop and get yourself in. It's not difficult. Simply show the will to participate, talk to Igiss and the story team, make suggestions - that's how I got in, and it's really not difficult as long as you show some motivation.
