Server Lag related issues...My thoughts..

charge everyone $1/month. Cheap and keeps the server up. A&L guy gets beer.

I will fight any notion of making Discovery RP 24/7 a Pay-to-Play server. Read my typing :
No FRIGGIN' WAY are we going to force people to pay in order to play on Discovery RP 24/7. Not on my watch.
Donating to the server is encouraged, but will be strictly voluntary.

Getting paid in beer, although tempting, is not the reason I'm spending my time here. I don't want another job.

On the other hand, getting beer as a thank you from the community is a bonus that lifts the spirit. Big difference there.
