Around 8:30 SMT, the Moselle received a distress call coming in from a patrol tasked with the defense of the Omega-7 system, spearheaded by Generalleutnant Felicia Drum, with [color=#FFCC33]*clears throat* Flieger McDowell on her wing.
I slipped into a Wraith-class fighter located within the hangar bay of the battleship and launched with reserve pilot Kanon Hanoka as my wingman. While we were flying, Generalleutnant Drum informed us of the scenario, apparently numerous Corsair vessels were cornering a sole Hessian gunship.
The nebula was still quiet, save for the heavy verbal exchange the terrorists conducted. After identifying a Heimdall gunship opposed by an Imperator, a Centurion, a Titan and a Praetorian, I gave orders to the wing to stand and observe with weapons on stand by. We were waiting for the enemy forces to go at each other's throat, so the bigger fish (in that case the Corsairs due to their numerical superiority) would be caught while having to take pressure from both sides.
What we were waiting for soon commenced. The marauders attacked each other, it was a right opportunity for us to interfere. I stood and observed the fight as my wingmen opened up attack protocols, targeting the Corsair gunboat, as per orders.
The ship was quickly destroyed, following that, the Heimdall was their next target, which already being damaged by the Corsair forces swarming it, went down even quicker, one of the Corsairs ended the ship with a SNAC projectile. The remaining smaller craft, the Praetorian, the Centurion and the Titan that arrived to the scene (whilst suffering heavy ionization effects, I'd like to note) were swiftly dispatched by our fighter contingent under 10 minutes.
Omega-7 was yet again secured. Our forces went back to the Karlsruhe in order to rearm and get a rest.
