Yes, if you can describe how the editor should work.

Hmm.... how about that it be made to read information from an external text file, in addition to the in game editor? If it's even possible, it could be a very useful option. Let me detail what I'm thinking.

The text file could contain multiple infocards, and you tell it which one to attach to the character. The command could look something like the following.

/setinfo e 1

The 'e' command would tell it to read from the external file, while the '1' would refer to which infocard in the file you want to load. The file itself could look something like this.

[p1]The Nasrudin's Donkey is a TAZ vessel named after an old legend from Earth. She is helmed by the eccentric (or stark, raving mad) Pope Tyler Jones of the Temporary Autonomous Zoners.
[p2]Tyler is renowned for being an extreme pacifist who refuses to involve himself in anything he believes cam result in violence. This leads him to take what many believe to be unwarranted risks in the name of personal safety. The most glaring example on this is the lack of any kind or shielding on his ship. He is also known for not accepting an escort, regardless of the danger an area of space holds. He believes that putting up any form of defense presents a challenge to a potential enemy, daring them to try to overcome it. By not presenting a challenge, he believes he will remain safer than anyone hiding behind thick armor and big guns. The fact that he is still alive seems to bear this out.
[p3]Tyler declares that anyone reading this is a genuine Discordian Pope. Don't take any crap from anyone.

In that example, [c1] would denote the first infocard, with further infocards numbered accordingly. [c1], [c2], [c3], etc. The [p1] tag denotes the first paragraph, numbered 1-5, as normal. As long as the infocard has no more than five paragraphs and a thousand characters, the infocard would be accepted and applied to the chosen ship.

Now, I don't know if all that's workable, or how hard it would be to implement, but you did ask for suggestions on a functioning editor. Notepad seems functional enough. :P
