One would be incorrect think it might be safe to assume Kassie and Jethro are siblings, but they are related. Kassie was born in Colorado system to well-to-do parents on Planet Denver. Heir to famous silver miners, her family had everything that her relatives didn't, aside from drive. Kassie was always a lazy girl, and had no direction in life aside from the next shopping spree. She was already twenty sex, and still hadn't found a husband. Her parents worried for her.

Following Jethro's success in DSE, the Thrull family from Denver leveraged their relation and secured a spot in the transportation division for Kassie.
