In combat, a Mosquito works just as well as a Train disruptor. Don't spam them mindlessly as you'll end up exhausting your supply, this is important especially with the more expensive Train types as you can burn through your money. Place your disruptors strategically, commonly when your opponent launches ordnances or perform engine kills.
A cruise disruptor isn't essential in fights, but they give you an edge.
