New PvP Rules Proposal

I will remove F1 out of the game at all (in space). At least I'll try. If it will be done, you'll have to alt-f4 to exit if you need, or fly to nearest base and use F1 menu normally. Players can still quit the game, no one can prohibit doing that - but at least it will stop shield cheating and stuff like that.

Relation thing is complicated. Either we fix reputations in a way that faction members have tags, or we leave it as is and let people have free rep without any restrictions. It's easy to say that pirates must have negative rep with houses and positive rep with pirates. And so what? Maybe include it into server rules too?

Daedalus, in my opinion, is right that basic server rules should look simple; however, server rules posted on forums should contain all details needed to settle any kind of disagreement, and simple rules that he suggested won't be able to fulfil this role to any extent.

It's very amusing that someone here is proposing to prohibit attacking non-faction players. When there was an immunity list rule, no one signed into it cause there was no threat for traders. Now, as the threat appeared, you remind about the immunity list rule again, although it was abolished long ago.

They could just leave, and the server would just about die out because nothing is going on.

That's what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, we'll have to make decisions, and the decisions won't please everyone here however hard we try. Some people will leave. I think that's inevitable in this situation. Dab with his AW egoism, Cardamine with excess self-confidence, many other people who think that what they are proposing is the only right thing to do, not listening to others, - it's impossible to draft a set of rules for PvP and factions that will please everyone.

Right now I have a feeling that 'rules' became some kind of instrument of terror for those who lose against those who win. Instead of making money and better equipping their ships to oppose new threat, some players here start accusing each other for cheating, which is merely using of in-game option (F1), and some try to appeal to rules that never existed (prohibiting to use NB/SB). All ships have NB/SB. It is Freelancer, and it's impossible to trigger where players can use them, and where not. If you want a game where admins can control every PvP attack, you chose wrong. This game requires you to be strong and witty to survive.

Me and Wolfpack will decide on the rules regarding the opinions that were (and will be) posted, and if people's wishes will not contradict our own thoughts, we will implement them. The goal, basically, is to make gameplay more interesting and challenging.
