I have read that transmission several times before (as required by the recruitment office) and, forgive my ignorance, my misunderstanding was in whether new recruits were immediately promoted to Lieutenants or if there were a trial and/or training period. I should have better articulated my confusion. I do not mean to waste your time, sir, as I know it is invaluable.
