' Wrote:Traders / Miners tend to be pirated 4 / 5 times on the route, I've been up to being pirated 12 times on one route. if each pirate asks you 2 mils, where does the profit go ? There's none, then these guys get frustrated and make a pirate (not all hopefully.)
Pirates doesn't make reasonable demands.
If you are really getting pirated 5-6 times on a route, you're stupid. I am sorry, I dont mean to be insulting, but I am going to. If you got pirated 5 times on a route and you went back and tried to do that route again, there is really no other words for that action. I trade, and recently I have been trading alot, I very very rarely get pirated. I do trade in Liberty from time to time, that is when I am usually most aware, but in general, I am always aware of my surroundings, I always checking the lanes in front of me, and if I think there might be someone along the lane, I cruise.
I know miners are going to say how there is only one place to sell their stuff, and while that may be right, you are still stupid if you are getting pirated in the amount you describe. I mine gold and I rob gold miners alot. You know whats funny about it? I never see the ore movers taking any route beside straight down the lanes through the Omegas. You know why my ore never gets pirated? I dont take that route. There may only be one place to sell the ore, but there are many, many ways to get there.
' Wrote:A Bounty Hunter's or Merc's role play is that they hunt people for money and do it efficiently.
That means any chatting between them and their targets is kept to a minimum in order to collect the kill without problems and move on.
That means they won't be chatting you up much and will likely approach you, tell you why they are about to blow you up, then blow you up. In the past they might offer you a way to avoid the death by bribing them. Those days however ended when someone sanctioned two mercenaries over word play.
This is a role play server. The Hunters and Mercs are role playing their part. The problem? Most of their targets don't like being blown up so they cry that the Hunters/Mercs aren't role playing.
There are many ways to keep Hunters/Mercs off your back. Hire them yourself. Pay another Merc/Hunter to kill the ones that bother you. Don't be stupid and stumble into areas you know they frequent. Report them to the authorities (if you are lawful and they are not) if they are breaking the law so that the law can also send its guns after them.
Instead of doing any of the above, you come here and cry. Such is our way of life no?
