The Hour of Awakening

woman's voice 'No, dont... dont take him..please i beg if you!!'
deep voice: ' if you know whats best for you and your family back off. or pay the consequences'
woman, now crying : 'But hes the only one i have left!!'
the door is kicked open, and the raiders carry off the boy while he is still asleep. the woman is on her knees crying and begging for forgiveness. her voice falls to a whisper, so the name she utters cannot be heard......

*wakes up*
'NO!!!!!!', i scream. it takes me two minutes to realise that it was all a dream. i was drenched i my own sweat, even though it was a cool night. i stare out of my cabin window and see beautiful planet, Toledo. my home. well, ever since i was there...
i dragged my eyes away from the window. looking at the planet gave me joy, but somehow, i felt more pain than the joy i felt. it was like there was something buried within me trying to burst out, but couldnt.
my door opened and i saw my fellowman, blackhawk standing in the doorway.
"Hey" he said. "You alright man? i heard a scream so i came running."
i didnt answer for a minute. he walked up close to me and asked again. this time i answered.
"i need to see someone. someone who can help me"
"what kind of help do you want mate?" he asked.
"hmm. forget it. im ok. you can return to your post hawk. if i need you i will call you. thank you"
he looks at me uncertainly for a few seconds and then says "are you sure? your completely drenched in sweat"
"yes i know. im going to go for a shower in a minute" i replied, trying to keep as calm as possible
"okay...ill be outside if you need me aite?" he said. somehow, i felt he wasnt really sure if i was okay or not. and then, he left.

i stood by the window once more, and stared out. but only this time i was seeing nothing but flashes...images of a past... a past i barely remember...
out of frustration, i lie back in my bed and i close my eyes and instantly fall asleep...
