The sound of swift movements and pangs of doors and drawers being opened was heard by Natalie as she passed by Jordy and Kaze's bedroom.
She rapped her knuckles on the door, and stuck her head inside without even hearing the reply.
Kaze was swiftly trying to put some of her clothing and personal belongings into a suitcase, alongside a couple of data disks, some electronic equipment
and enough energy batteries for two months so that the LSF Kel-Tec PLR-636 wouldn't run out of shots.
"Where's the fire, Kaze?" Natalie asked, entering the room.
"'You know who' called, Blue. The deal is set, and i'll send the reply as i finish packing." Kaze looked around for another data disk and a weird electronic box she pulled from under the bed.
"This won't fit here." She shrugged. "Guess it will have to stay in the Nyx."
"Hm... The deal is set? Most interesting. Did you get what you came for? Your tactic did worked well." Natalie pulled a silver cigar case and removed one.
As she sat in one of the blackened Kauri wood seats, she lighted the cigar and puffed.
"True.." Kaze stopped packing, looked at Natalie and chuckled.
"Who would have thought. Just make enough noise for the LSF to pull the inactive files from the secure data center regarding my father..
And then just get my contacts to procure a copy. Plus the Iota readings.. God.. In contrast..
All of the Navy, LSF and LPI are hunting me.. The Order barely tolerates me.. And i have the Colonial CIS in my behind."
Natalie laughed. "Not so bad for a ex-Colonial." She let the smoke flow after she laughed.
Kaze sighed, and looked at the still opened, half-done, suitcase.
"Going alone? It's dangerous out there, i've heard." Natalie pulled another smoke from the cigar.
"Have to... Too many people make too much noise. In Liberty, i had to make a noise, and you helped me to it." Kaze replied and Natalie nodded, in a mock gesture.
"Much obliged, Miss Dagon."
Kaze smirked. "This whole deal fell into my lap. I get to help and repay Bretonia and the Colonials for the debt i owe to them. So i can't screw it up."
Natalie nodded and finished the cigar in the metal ashtray that was near. "Even so.."
"No, Blue. I got to go alone. This is my game now. Back to the shadows, were i always were." Kaze quickly replied, already knowing what Natalie was about to say.
"Very well.. Suit yourself, Kaze." Natalie smiled. "Do be safe..." She walked and hugged the sitting Kaze.
"What about Jordy?" Natalie asked before opening the door.
"He'll be around. He doesn't like to stop at one place too long." Kaze smiled. "So expect for him to crash here with news once in a while for the next couple of months."
"Well, the Ranger is always open for the two of you. And this is your room. No compromises." Natalie smiled.
"I know, Blue.. This is my home already." Kaze bowed her head as she was taught in her stay in Kyoto, as a show of respect and to convey gratitude.
"Thank you, Natalie."
Natalie smiled and closed the door, leaving Kaze to finish her packing.
