My family hails from Liberty. I was born on Planet Cambridge, and we lived there my whole childhood, on those big, beatiful green grassy grounds. My father was a Professor and Medic researcher at the station, and he and my mother left Manhattan shortly before she gave birth to me.
When I was 15, I started to roam around the system, visiting stations, meeting people, running errands for my dad once in a while. At age 18, I buyed a old Moldy Crow at Colorado and was already traversing to Manhattan, with occasional short stops in other houses as well. I befriended a few Zoner folks at Freeport 4, a rogue in New York, and in one of those travels I meet Capt. Nigel Baggins of the BAF. He was assigned to serve as a navigator in the Battleship Norfolk at Cambridge, and our friendship grow. I even dated his sister a few times. Occasionally still do. Back to the story.
As we all know, 5 years later, the Tau War began. Nigel got promoted to Admiral and was put in charge of the
Norfolk. During months he was talking me into joining the Force as a privateer, since he believed my gun and flying skills could be helpful, but I didn't wanted to join the war. Altough he and the ship performed admirably during the war, unfortunaly a lucky torpedo managed to hit the bridge during the hold of the Dundee system, and Nigel was killed at impact. At his memorial service, I informed my parents of my decision.

I joined the army. I entered as an independent contractor, a gun for hire, and set my mind at killing as most squint-eyes bastard as I could before my inevitable demise. I sneaked into Kusari space for Blood Dragons negotiations, fought in the Kusari homefront, and sprinted to evacuate Glasgow outpost. But then I saw. I saw that the Kusarians invaded the outpost shooting all, military and civilians alike, without trying to take hostages. And I saw the mighty Armed Forces and Police, supposed bastions of courage and justice, scatter away without look back as their station turned it's guns on them. I saw them leaving the women, the kids, the soldiers that fought their battles, to die at Kusari hands. I evacuated as many as I could, but I could never forget what they did. War or not, a man must have honor. With my bay full of injured and scared survivors, I blasted out of the station at cruise speed while the remnants of the crew holded their positions, fighting a lost battle, leaving their own injured to die.

We reached LD-14 Uranium field with the engines melting, and the thrusters died shortly into the field. With that many asteroids and radiation, would be a matter of how and when for we to die. That not counting the Kusari presence at Glasgow and the attack force plunging LD-14. With the engine core completely trashed, I tried reconforting the survivors at that cramped Crow cargo bay, thinking in a way out.

And then we got hailed. The bay went mute, while I eyed the scanners and reached for the comm. The familiar voice that speaked out hit me like a cold, refreshing breeze. "Mac, is that you? This is Jack Hodgins, from Freeport 4. Are you alright?"-the voice came through. He was a Zoner that I met nearly 4 years past, flying a giant Whale transport. He towed us out of the field and I transferred all survivors to his bay. After reparing the engines at the newly stationed Battleship York, I met him at Leeds so we could talk.

He told me how he was out there in LD-14's field doing some research project on his own for his Zoner Consortium, and invited me to take a couple of test runs with him to see what they did. And I told him about my service time, the battle and how I had lost faith by all that happened, and how I just wanted to stay away from any group or government for the time being.

He told me he understand how I felt, and we parted ways. I sold the Crow, buyed a Firefly and set for the stars. One companion of mine during the war and a agent I met in a cover operation joined me on that, and I soon assembled a crew.

I've lived out of reach since them, always on the run, always following myself and just... kept flying. During that time the war continued, my parents passed away and I flied from port to port taking missions where I found them. I'm not gonna lie to you: I've done from honest trade and mining to smuggling, and don't take shame in it. I got out of situations that I tought was sure dead, and learned how to handle myself in the worst situations imaginable.

But lately this isn't being enough. My conversation with Hodgins keeps coming back, and I think I'm ready. Ready to leave this independant one-ship life and join myself with people that share the same ideals. People who want to just stay away from the system, who want to make the galaxy a better place to live and trade and just go unnobstructed by it. To be free, and help others be too.

That's why I want me and my crew into the Zoners Consortium. Cause we can make a difference.
