May I remind you 50 years ago we was in the Billions already so thats not a major change, where 4 million to over 60 million is over 800 years. One person can do only so much.

If you start of with one germ cell after 2 cycles of dividing you have 4 germs. If you have 10000 germ cells to start with you will have in that same cycle period 40000 germ cells afterwards. So don't missconcept a small population to a large population.

Also a space faring nation is more likely to rely on technology than anything else, meaning as such they will be spending more time working and having fun then they would if they was 800 years ago where women where looking after from 4-8 children on average for there life of 40 years. Nowdays if that same lady grew up here she would likely only give birth to one child, at around being 30 years old, and have no more children. In the future with technology like in Sirius she would more than likely only have her child at the age of 40 or not have one at all. Technology does reduce population as it is all around us. So a Space faring Nation is likely to have children at the rate as we would, nor would be able to produce 3 billion souls from less than 1 Million women in 50 years.

Edit: and to dominate a planet. That is in no way related to a population on a planetry scale. However I'll point this out.

You have two legs and a spear, I can cover 50 miles a day.
I have a spaceship, 4 Vengeances, 2 Deliberators, I can cover the planet in 400 patrols in one day.
Which is different?

Cardi Edit: Cardi is what they grow, however in roleplay everything on malta is effected, the water, its air even, so an outcast only really has to store maltese air in the ship and they will be fine, as long as the air lasts, or they can take a drink of maltese water. Would suggest reading about cardi as it isn't the plant in roleplay thats addictive, its a enzeme that grows wildly throughout the planet, like germs do on ours.
