' Wrote:Oh please. If someone doesn't RP, it's the traders. As Vlko said:

1% traders halt a RP
50% traders say GTFO and starts trusting so they die
25% F1 in attempt to not get busted
And the other 24% do something else.

The point is most traders suck. Indie pirates suck too, except some. LR- pwn ass, and soo does the VR.
The other 24% open fire and then yell abuse in system chat.

Pirate's can be just as bad. As someone that frequently plays as both a pirate and a trader I would say the traders are the worse of the two. Most of the pirates I run into when trading or mining provide me with some good RP, however I've only ever stopped one or two traders that played along nicely (Traders from official factions are always a pleasure to stop). By playing along nicely I mean that they RP'd with me didn't just say "Ok" pay me and fly off, and even that usually only happens after several CD's.

A lot of the time when pirates might seem as though they aren't RP'ing very well, at least for me personally, is because it's not that easy to try and chase a transport, keep disrupting it's cruise engines, dodge the incoming fire and try and RP with them at the same time. If as a trader you stop straight away and explain that you are cutting your engines, then it's much less likely that the pirate will quickly sort you into the "lolwut" pile and they will take the time to RP with you. If you try and thrust away or don't talk to them then it's very hard not to assume that you aren't interested in role-play and the pirate will probably rush you through the encounter.

Also, this topic has been made a million times before, and it always ends up with a similar conclusion: The trader/pirate situation is fine as it is, because the problems with it are down to the people playing the game and each side is as bad as the other.
