Meh.
I notice that the entry for the Blood Dragons doesnt really say anything about what the Dragons actually intend to do themselves.
That is fine by me - because I have a number of contingencies I can put into place.
If the new government wants to send fleets into Chugoku? I say let them come! They havent been able to dislodge us for hundreds of years - why would they succeed now when they are weaker than ever - whilst the Dragons are stronger than ever before. We have our ongoing funding form the GMG intact, and our Cruisers (jointly developed with the Order) will be battle-ready.
See whilst the Dragons might lose direct cooperation from the Outcasts - we havent really had that for some time now. All during the Bretonian war, the Dragons havent been reckless in their strategy. We have been quite content to let Kusari waste itself in war.
Now their fleet lies cut off - and if the government wants to sacrifice more lives waging a domestic campaign it will blow up in their face politically as well as militarily.
And that is just the military aspect. Politically, the Samura-backed Emperor has been deposed - that is half the battle won as far as the Dragons are concerned!
The time might well come for the some within the Dragons to start promoting a peaceful resolution - pushing for the Hideyoshi dynasty to be restored to the throne - in return for giving up arms and having a symbolic Emperor rather than another dictator.
If sounds heretical to the Dragons - well it is! This line of RP is designed to cause division within the Dragons themselves as much as advance the Taishogun's political goal of taking the throne. A peaceful end between the Dragons and Kusari would possibly see violence within the Dragons themselves as they try to 'go straight'.
This is only a portion of the sorts of strategies I can put into play. I look forward to next version and the possibilities it brings...
