Historically, my bloodline is Irish, yet my ancestors left Ireland during the potato famine & are now 100% American...Although I have alot of knowledge of my historical genealogy & have alot of respect for my origins, I have absolutely 0 obligation to the ins & outs of present day Ireland. Having never set foot on Irish soil & not having any close familial ties to that country, & only having met Irish immigrants that help me learn of their culture 2nd hand. Am I to be expected to give a rats watusi about any present day problems they come up against, or would I be more apt to put America in my mind 1st before all others?
Earth is a small planet & technically, & in my view, it's just up the street to the <strike>left</strike> ::uh, I mean right...sue me:crazy::: a little way...Yet I'll never feel any obligation to them personally if they go to war with someone. If I fight & die for anyone, it's gonna be for my country of birth.
Again, I will continually aim to get people to think outside the box where Gaians are concerned.
