Salud, camaradas!
It is with regret that I must report that I have failed in my duty to keep the CPW-Havana safe. The ship is holed from stem to stern, much of the superstructure was destroyed, and her main engines were shot away.
On 08-22-818 AS the CPW-Havana and Task Force Bull Dog aborted an attack on Omicron Alpha when confronted with superior forces, weighing engaging a superior numerical force against the potential for loss and deciding to return home.
The CPW-Lithuania as well as all escort fighters broke off from the task force and rushed to reinforce Omega-52 when a VR incursion was detected. Leaving the CPW-Badanov and the CPW-Havana to return to Omega-52 via the Sigma route.
A Samura transport spotted the two capital ships when Commander Brooks made a navigational error and guided the Havana to a heavily transited Jump Gate, instead of a more stealthy jump hole.
This left us with the choice to attempt to sprint to the jump hole to Sigma-19. Unfortunately we were unable to beat the Kusari blockade of the system that closed off every jump hole and potential escape route like a noose.
We counted no less than five cruiser class vessels on scanners, assorted fighters of Blood Dragon, Farmers, as well as KNF and Imperial Guard. All led by the fearsome battleship Akagi.
Any attempt to breach the blockade would result in disaster.
The Commander of the Kusari Forces offered us a flag of truce, and his word to escort us from the system peacfully. Seeing that as being the only option open to us, as the enemy forces were sweeping the system hunting us.
I took it upon myself to offer our conditional surrender and be escorted from the system.
However, once we reached the Sigma-19 gate the Kusari forces abandoned their oath, and opened fire upon our peace bonded vessels. We managed to jump to Sigma-19, but could not escape the sheer numbers of vessels thrown after us.
The Havana was finally felled by the Akagi, it's treacherous Admiral centering his bloodlust upon us. His honour in tatters, as was mine for allowing myself to be led by his ruse.
The Havana was left, a burning hulk, slipping into the gas clouds, while the Kusari celibrated our demise. My crew crowded into emergency shelters and escape pods aboard the Havana while our emergency beacons activated. Hoping that the Kusari had given us up for dead, struggling to maintain limited life support and tending to our wounded.
Our emergency beacons were intercepted by an Order vessel in the region, we believe tipped off by their Blood Dragon allies. As their repair ship managed to attach itself and is currently towing us back towards their primary shipyard, where the ship will undergo extensive repairs, and refit.
I submit myself to the Commissariat, and to High Command for Courts Martial, and await verdict about my fate.
