This is the Planet Kyushu office of the GNN reporting that the TG have launched an unprovoked attack upon this peaceful farming planet.

Approximately 6 hours ago a ship, believed to be the lost Privately Developed Cruiser nadesico, broadcasting a clear TG ID signal, appeared from the Tsushima tradelane and began a sustained bombardment of Planet Kyushu. All police and navy patrols in the system were alerted and sped to defend Kyushu from this vile Attacker. However all the fighter patrols and at least 1 destroyer patrol were lost to the Attacker before it was driven off by the combined might of 2 BS patrols which suffered servere damage and were unable to chase the TG vessel when it fled Kyushu. Reports suggest that the attacking ship's gunners deliberately targeted the helpless pilots and crewers in their escape pods.

The population of Planet Kyushu has suffered terribly as uncomfirmed reports state that the bombardment seems to have been targeting the farming communities scattered across the planet. So far there has been no offical word on the death toll, but it is believed that 8 or 9 farming towns have been totally destroyed. Other reports state that the storage silos that contained over 6 months worth of harvested crops have also been destroyed, if this is true it is a massive blow to the farmers profits.

This attack on Kyushu, with the system being used as a staging ground for our Loyal and Heroic forces assult into the borderworlds, has clearly stunned some goverment officals. With so many brave pilots and crews lost to this single ship it has been suggested that the borderworld assult will maybe halted temporily or possibly even cancelled while relief efforts continue.
