All these experiences and a few more that i will not share as i do not want to rant forever have given me the views i have today. The fruits of my labor are mine. not yours, not his and definitely not some lazy welfare bum 2000 miles away in Colorado smoking up some legal pot on some bogus medical condition. If you all want to share your money, then go ahead, Make it an option to choose if you want to pay into it, or not. Like FDR intended it to be to begin with. I'll give the fruits of my labor away at my own will. not because some mommy sheltered thugs in D.C. say it belongs to everyone.
Well, that is my personally view on socialism, i hope that this will not be a flamefest as i enjoy talking about politics. Also, i hope this has not offended anyone. as that was not the purpose. I merely did as Mr. jihadjoe asked of me. I hope as well, that this will suffice for your answer.

Well, I see that your bitterness towards the "welfare state" is quite personal. And hell, I can't blame you for hating some aspects of it. But that's just it.

First of all, can you honestly say that things like that out-weigh the positive things brought by welfare policy?

Secondly, do you think that these... Shortcomings of the system are the shortcomings of the welfare state directly? I'd say that they're more like failure of controlling the channeling of funds. Which is a failure that can happen to any system, anywhere. And a failure that can be rectified, at least to an extent, give or take the inevitability of human error.

But to just simply blame the welfare system? When a simple solution would be to increase the control over the funds (but not controlling politically - some organisations tend to work optimally with some degree of autonomy).
