Brotherhood Bar-Talks

The young, robot-armed, Coalition officer strode up to the bar with a cocky smile on his face. His black, standard-issue shirt was unbuttoned at the top, revealing a red bandana of the sort often worn by train-robbers in years gone by. It made him look like a rebellious young man trying to go straight-edge. Or maybe it was vice-versa.

Not surprisingly, from his tone of skin and hair, he spoke to the barman with a Cretan accent...

"Hey, amigo, you owe my comrades and I drinks on the house, or am I horrifically mistaken?"

The smile didn't leave his face as he looked over his mechanical left shoulder to his friends sitting at the other end of the bar. He gave the tall, strong-looking man and the rather frighteningly cold, stiff-backed, young lady a 'thumbs-up' gesture with his good hand. He still smiled, he was off-duty after all.

"Of course, Ares! You're always a-welcome here!" responded the usually grumpy barman cheerily, "you and your young friends are always to be considered honoured guests in this establishment, considering the help, and the food you bri-", the barman was cut off by a more roughly spoken, not entirely sober, man at the other end of the bar...

"Yeah, and they kicked the ass outta them watchacallems earlier! Them Nova Antimatters or whatever they is..."

Another man butted in now...

"No, that's the gun they use, its the TaiidanPG they wasted!"

Ares shook his head, laughing, carrying as many beers as humanly possible back to Ivan and Sonja. They'd earned it. Hopefully Ivan wouldn't be doing his sober routine again tonight. For such a cocky wiseass, he was a hell of a sober...
