I'm saying that it's very rare for someone to use their fighter account most of the time. They usually use their "combat" (aka capital ship) account when they want to actually kill something. I have no problem with people having alternate accounts, I'm just saying most people shouldn't have an alternate fighter account just because they get bored of owning everything in their capital ship.

In the current infrastructure of the mod making such a comparison is totally pointless if you have some maths ability and know how to calculate. I agree with the ways for earning money are trading, making missions, mining maybe but that could be discussed and there are also fullfilling bounty contracts posted on forum and pillaging activity for pirates.
The allegation you sound about a fighter's earning his own rp based funds is acceptable yet upto an extent since the missions that are classified as hard and especially against captial ships should be designed such that they would need more than a single fighter to accomplish. Fighters or bombers working in pairs against cap ships would be more rp based, would not it be?
To implement such an order, we would need more missions maybe scaled upto 100 or higher, a way in fact slowly climbing from a fighter, a gunboat then a cruiser and finally a battleship. The mod would need some missions paying upto 50 or 100 millions for missions against probably a squadron of battleships and some cruiser wings that would be and I cant even wonder how much it would be HARD for the mod makers to implement them and as hell that would lag the server on the other hand.
Implementing some reasonable tweaks in the current missions that could be classified as hard is probably in the agenda of the mod designers -as far as i believe it is-
And for the enconter issue, I generally prefer to match my opponent in an equal basis and if its an event thats going to happen stay on the most proper ship which would make the things balanced. Majority here use different classes of ships, varying from fighter to the battleship. And people may have different ways of having fun which we can not intervene. My opinion is to stay equal against your odd in terms of ship and equipment is the best way to preserve rp fun and balance and not ruin it.
To nullify the cash transferring thing from a trader to another character which you believe is pointless, and I can respect that, it is your idea, well the mod would need to be implemented with some very serious tweaks as i have stated them, the uber advanced battleship encounters or some army like squadrons of ace fighter wings or maybe some sexy alien race who could even best the nomad.
