A visit to Mr. Raines's Office

The secretary studiously ignored the man's evident rush and short patience, and calmly continued;

I'm afraid I cannot permit you to speak with Judge Raines without knowing the reason for your visit sir. Anything you say to me remains as confidential as those you speak with his Honor about. If you can give me the topic and some information as to your visit I can inform Mr. Raines and possibly get you an audience with him.
