Sir,
I must concur with Captain Topf. The new police force in Rheinland has proven to be incredibly effective, going as far as to even clear trade lanes of small-time pirates ((NPC's)). They've reponded well to distress calls and escort requests, and have even shown a healthy respect for RM's authority on a number of occasions that I can recall. They are very communicative, and vigilant in aiding us in our war against piracy and smuggling. I welcome their efforts in helping to police Rheinland.
Having said that, there are a few ambiguities in their conduct that have left me questioning their motives;
As Captain Topf has mentioned, they've somehow allocated a very large budget to be able to afford so many capital class ships. I've seen one battleship myself, although I believe Lt. East claims he has seen two. I'm left wondering: Who would be interested in funding such a large force? Or rephrased: Which of our cunning enemies would have enough dedication in establishing this force right in the very heart of our beloved country?
Secondly, I've noticed several Polizei officers have no reguard for the boundaries of Rheinland. Of course as a seperate faction they should not be held accountable for our previous war with the GMG, however, further acts of transgression in Sigma-13 on their part could easily reignite previous conflicts. They've pursued at length enemies as far as Omicron Theta. Are they the police of Rheinland, or the police of the sector? I'm impressed by their devotion to the chase, but if they keep rattling the cage we'll have every foreign government lawful or otherwise screaming for Rheinland blood. We're, in a sense, allied to the Polizei through similar goals, but we can't have them bringing another war with them. We only just reunited Rheinland from civil war, not to mention we're still recuperating from the 80 years war.
If I may be so bold as to speak this freely:
Although they seem to have good intentions, I do not trust them. My instincts have rarely let me down, as I never trusted the treacherous [Rheinland] dogs either. If I'm mistaken, I'll let time prove me wrong.
